Why Was My Request to Join the Group Denied?

To keep our Facebook community groups safe, relevant, and local, join requests are reviewed before approval. Not all requests can be approved.

Common Reasons a Request May Be Declined

• Your Facebook profile is very new or has limited activity
• Your profile does not clearly show that you live or work in the area (or nearby)
• You are already a member of a large number of similar groups
• You have no visible connections within the group
• Your profile is private, incomplete, or difficult to verify

These checks help protect the community from spam, scams, and irrelevant content.

Important to Know

• Join approvals are based on Facebook profile information
• This process is separate from your Listing ID or subscription
• Having a Listing ID does not automatically guarantee group access

If you believe your request was declined in error, you’re welcome to reapply.

Before reapplying, we recommend:

• Updating your profile information
• Ensuring your location or work area is visible
• Making your profile public enough to verify
